Caryn is a licensed Clinical Social Worker with advanced clinical training in mental health and the treatment of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). In her private practice, Caryn works with individuals, children, and families with a variety of diagnoses.
Caryn's approach to therapy is based on the belief that all individuals are doing their best at each moment in time, and that they have the capacity to create desired change while building and developing a life worth living. Caryn focuses on generating strong relationships with her clients, and she provides a collaborative, compassionate, and trusting space for clients to work on their therapeutic goals.

At present, in addition to her private practice, Caryn works as a school social worker for the New York City Department of Education. As a School Social Worker, Caryn works with students and families who require support both emotionally, behaviorally, and academically. Caryn also works to support teachers and administrators. Caryn supports and creates social emotional learning in and out of the classroom.
Previously, Caryn has gained significant clinical experience through her work in a variety of outpatient and inpatient mental health settings, treating diverse populations with a wide range of treatment needs. Her previous experience includes a clinician at Four Winds Hospital, in Westchester, New York. In this role, Caryn was part of a treatment team consisting of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and mental health workers on a child and adolescent impatient unit. Caryn also spent several years at the Northside Center for Child Development in Harlem, New York. At Northside, she provided clinical care for children, teens, young adults and adults with a range of diagnosis from trauma, mood disorders, anxiety, depression, attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and substance abuse. In addition, Caryn worked at Freedom Institute, an outpatient substance abuse treatment program, in which she worked with adolescent and young adults who were in recovery from alcohol and other substances.
Caryn received her masters in social work from Columbia University in New York. She has been trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT).
